H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso

Born on the 6th of July 1935, he is both the Head of State and the spiritual leader of Tibet.  He has tirelessly struggled to regain its freedom and independence since the Chinese occupation of 1949.  The Dalai Lama has travelled to more than 60 countries, meeting presidents, crowned rulers and prime ministers, seeking a peaceful solution to his country’s crisis.
He has visited Germany more than 20 times and has stayed in Baden Baden,  where he gave audiences and broadcast on Südwestfunk.
