Mick Jagger born 1943
English rock musician, actor, songwriter, record and film producer. He is best known as the lead singer of The Rolling Stones with whom he has made several visits to Stuttgart, the latest in August 2006, when they arrived with an entourage of 300, staying at the Meridian Hotel and performing at the Gottlieb Daimler Stadium.
Mick Jagger was knighted by H.M. Queen Elizabeth on 12th of December 2003 for his ‘Services to popular music’. His acceptance of this honour was publicly derided by his friend and fellow Rolling Stone Keith Richards who said (amongst other things!) “It’s not what The Stones is about, is it?” Jagger laughed off the criticism saying, “ I think he would probably like to get the same honour himself; it’s like being given an ice-cream- one gets one and they all want one, it’s nothing new, Keith likes to make a fuss”.
