Laurence Whitfield.
Born Manchester England in 1938. Member of The Peterloo Group, Manchester, from 1957. Attended The Manchester Regional College of Art 1959/ 60.and the Slade School of Fine Art, London, 1960/ 62.
Moved to Paris in 1962, returning to London 1964 and to Gloucestershire, England in 1966. Moved from England to live in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, in June 2005.

Teaching:
Regular part-time Lecturer in Sculpture at The Bath Academy of Art, Corsham and Newport College of Art, from 1965 to 1971. Full-time Senior Lecturer in Fine Art at, The Polytechnic, Wolverhampton, to 1989. – 1970, Artist in Residence at The University of Kentucky Lexington USA. – 1979, L’Ecole des Beaux Arts, Le Mans, France in 1985 at The Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Gujarat, India.
Gave up teaching in 1990 and has since worked privately and professionally.
