Born 20th April 1935 in Öhringen, Reinhold Würth entered his father’s wholesale screw business at Künzelsau in 1949, as second employee and first apprentice. After the premature death of his father in1954 he took over management of the company and in the following decades, expanded the regional business, making it into a worldwide group of companies, employing 47,000 people in over 80 countries.
He is well known as an important art collector, owning around 9,000 works comprising of paintings, sculptures and drawings, which he is always eager to share with his staff and the general public in his purpose-built museums and galleries.
From within Germany and from abroad, he has had many honours bestowed upon him from both the worlds of business and the Arts.
